Position Summary

We are currently seeking a BI Developer to join our Finance Team at our Toronto office.

Major Responsibilities
  • Support the scoping of BI solutions with business unit leaders to capture business objectives and prioritize opportunities
  • Design and develop complex BI Solutions, from back-end components and processes to front-end user interaction/experience components/requirements
  • Develop Power BI data models that aggregate data from multiple sources to meet requirements, configure, and set up application gateway refreshes
  • Create mock-up reports for proof-of-concept reviews
  • Design and develop complex BI solutions, from back-end components and processes to front end user interaction/experience components/requirements
  • Troubleshoot/test the solution and ensure the solution performs/performance-tune these solutions as necessary and document results
  • Document business expected outcomes, baselines, and value-add framework
  • Understand and implement Power BI performance improvement and dashboarding best practices
  • Remain current on Power BI upgrades and other tools to enhance solutions for stakeholders
Qualifications
  • A post-secondary education in Computer Science or Information Management or relevant experience 
  • 3+ years’ experience using Power BI or similar BI platform to deliver complex visuals 
  • Minimum of two years of experience developing and implementing Power BI solutions, including modelling, design, development and testing of data visualization or paginated report solutions 
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis (DAX), M, ETL (Power Query), SQL (or data extraction and integration tools) and performance optimization 
  • Strong ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and work within tight deadlines 
  • Ability to communicate clearly in conversation and in presentations to both technical and non-technical staff and to provide updates to all levels of management and stakeholders 
  • Microsoft Power BI certifications or Azure certifications are an asset 
  • Experience working in an Agile project delivery model is an asset
