Position Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Marketing Content Manager to join our Sheppard office in North York. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work from home and the office.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of our content strategy and plan, working closely with internal cross-functional teams, external agency partners, and freelancers to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives. You will have the opportunity to shape our brand's narrative and voice, driving engagement and growth through compelling and relevant content initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong strategic thinking, creative vision, and leadership abilities to guide our content efforts to new heights and pushing industry boundaries.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy Development:
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive content strategy aligned with the overall marketing goals and objectives of the organization. This involves identifying target audiences, content themes, channels, and formats to effectively engage and convert prospects.
Content Creation and Curation:
  • Leading the creation, curation, and publication of high-quality content across various channels, such as blogs, social media, video, email, landing pages and websites. This includes writing, editing, and optimizing content to resonate with the target audience and drive desired outcomes.
Content Calendar Management:
  • Planning and maintaining a content calendar to ensure a consistent publishing schedule and alignment with key marketing initiatives.
Content Distribution and Promotion:
  • Developing distribution strategies to maximize the reach and visibility of content through organic and paid channels. This may include social media promotion, email marketing, influencer partnerships, and content syndication to amplify the reach and impact of content assets.
Performance Tracking and Analysis:
  • Monitoring and analyzing the performance of content marketing efforts using key metrics such as traffic, engagement, conversions, and ROI. This involves leveraging analytics tools to gain insights into audience behavior, content effectiveness, and opportunities for optimization.
Content Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, inclusive of external agency partners and freelancers, to ensure alignment and integration of content initiatives with broader marketing campaigns and initiatives. This involves effective communication and coordination to leverage resources and expertise across the organization.
Budget Management:
  • Managing the content marketing budget effectively to allocate resources efficiently and maximize return on investment. This includes budget planning, tracking expenses, and optimizing spending across content creation, distribution, and promotion activities.
Stay Current with Industry Trends:
  • Staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in content marketing to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Education:
 
  • Minimum post-secondary diploma or degree

Qualifications/Experience:

You will leverage your 5+ years’ experience in aligning content creation and optimization efforts with SEO best practices, maximizing success in increased traffic, engagement, and conversion rates.
Has advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as GA4, Sprout Social, and WordPress.

  • You have proven experience in evaluating existing content and content structures and recommend ways to increase effectiveness.  You naturally gravitate to test and learn new ideas, messaging, and tactics to increase KPIs.

  • You have great initiative, persistence and drive to proactively foster teamwork and improve collaboration, ensuring adoption and engagement along the journey.
 Communicator 
  • An exceptional communicator, both written and oral, confidently, and cohesively presenting to internal audiences and building relationships at all levels of management.

  • A self-starter with a highly adaptive demeanor who can successfully work in a virtual environment with the ability to juggle multiple projects & deadlines gracefully and translate a high volume of complex information into action plans for our various audiences, adapting quickly to feedback, delays, new information, or change in scope.

  • A brand champion that takes great pride ensuring that the client and brand strategy is our driving force in meeting our objectives.
 Data-driven 
  • You have an analytical mindset, that maps user journeys/experiences to unpack customers’ content needs, while gaining a deep understanding of audience segments that will advise activation strategies and guide highly targeted messaging.

  • A strategic thinker that’s metric driven with a curious and creative mindset that embraces data, industry knowledge and best-in-class benchmarks to help inform recommendations and optimization plans.

  • It is a bonus, if you have experience working in the consumer finance category with insights into the challenges Canadians face with financial literacy and financial wellness.
