Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk (Entry Level)

Position Summary

We are currently looking for an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk (internally known as Banking Administrator) to join our team at our North York office. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the documentation and management of trust accounts while ensuring meticulous financial recordkeeping.

 

Major Responsibilities

  •  Processing daily deposits and remotely scan to the bank
  • Inputting payments and posting deposits into out software
  • Processing Pre-Authorized Debits (PADs) for Bankruptcy and Proposal estates including the set up of banking information, PAD schedules and entering changes/holds/amendments, as required
  • Managing and processing returned PADs, dividend payments, and cheques
  • Preparing cheques to pay dividends and various disbursements
  • Analyzing and re-issuing stale dated cheques
  • Preparing monthly interest calculations/allocations in trust accounts
  • Processing filing fees required by the Regulator and by the Court
  • Managing the pre-filing trust account
  • Liaising with staff members on banking matters and following up on any issues that need to be addressed
  • Backup for bank run
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Qualifications

  • College diploma with a focus in business administration, bookkeeping, or a related area of study is preferred
  • Previous experience in Insolvency industry is an asset but not required
  • Effective time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • High computer literacy including the ability to learn new programs
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Great interpersonal skills to deal with team members, staff, and clients.
  • A team player who can also work independently and take ownership of their workload.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyse account activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to speak effectively with clients and other third parties
  • Highly motivated with a desire to be successful
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset
